What is covered
We aim to assist clients through a process of deciding succession planning issues for their farm.
On completion of this course participants will:

Have identified the structure and history of land ownership management and control

Identified farm family members with an interest or stake in farm succession

Identified future family, business and retirement objectives

Identified future land ownership, management and control objectives

Developed a pathway for achieving succession objectives
Prior to undertaking this process we suggest that the farm’s capacity to provide income for retirement (parents) and to pay for management (eg son(s)/daughter(s)) be evaluated. Some clients achieve this by undertaking either the Farm Financial Planning or Farm Business Planning courses prior to completing this course.
The farm’s historic accounts (prepared by your accountant) provide a guide based on historic performance.
